I have been riding horses since I was 3 years old and have been passionately involved with horse riding all my life. Eventing was my first love but I later became more inspired by dressage. After a grounding in pony club and riding club I went on to complete a HND in equine science and business studies.
I was fortunate to have had an education in classical dressage in my early 20’s. This opened my eyes to the correct biomechanics and the influences that correct training could have on a horses back.
This training system created significant problems with relation to saddle fitting. As the horses back and core strengthens the landscape of the horses back goes through significant changes, which in turn requires different saddles. Wow saddles really captured my imagination as the parts are all interchangeable and allow the saddle to adapt and change along with the horses back development. After using the saddles on my horses for a couple of years, I undertook the training and became a certified saddle fitter in 2014.
I also have my BHS Stage 3 coach & stage 4 care management & ride. I combine my teaching with saddle fitting and when I have the chance, I ride and compete on my own horses.
