WOW SADDLE GAUGE

We have produced a gauge that will reproduce every single possible fitting permutation for the WOW range of saddles which adds up to a staggering 567 combinations!

Furthermore, the gauge can tell you the bearing surface size and length for your horse and even gives an indication as to what type of girthing you would require.

When a client has a saddle, they can set the gauge to the fitting they have currently, and the gauge will tell them if the current specification is correct.  If it says it does not fit, then the gauge can used to work out the correct specification so that it does.

TYPES OF GAUGE

The WOW saddle gauge version 4 is an upgrade on previous versions in that it is held together with bolts rather than magnets. The head-plates and spine have been made thicker to stiffen the whole gauge and lessen the amount of skew the centre and rear arms can achieve.

This allows the user to apply downward pressure on the gauge on horses that are carrying more fat around the shoulder and over the back, which is advantageous when fitting these types of horses. The Pendulum is twice as large which increases the accuracy. The front panel option plates are also fitted to each head-plate permanently.

IF YOU HAVE A WOW SADDLE

If you already have a WOW saddle, you can use a gauge to check and adapt the fit of your saddle as your horse changes shape. You should set the gauge to existing the fitting options on your WOW saddle as your starting point and see if it is in balance.

FITTING OPTIONS

There are four key elements for making a saddle correctly fit your horse.
1. Tree Curvature
2. Front Gusset Height (lift)
3. Rear Gusset Height (lift)
4. Head-plate Types
Each of these has 3 possible options.
The WOW Saddle gauge can identify every one of these.

CONTACT AREA MAT

The Saddle gauge comes with a Contact Area Mat. The contact mat is a pair of grey material panel shapes that represent the contact area of a panel.

This can be put on the horse’s back and the markings on the mat will show you where to place the gauge on the horse.
