WHAT SPLIT SOFT STRAIGHT GIRTHS ARE ALL ABOUT
A split straight girth is essentially a soft straight girth which has been split either side of the sternum plate. This allows a straighter pull from a back girth strap descending at a slight angle rather than a “broken” angle that a normal straight girth would give.
It is used where a H girth would be “too much” but where the girth straps would otherwise create an uneven pull on a normal straight girth.
It will create a bigger triangle on the side of the horse which focuses forces and increases the stability of the “pull” but with less pressure as you do not have an over-tightened strap, due to the triangle the girth strap creates being bigger.

WITH ELEGANCE STERNUM:
The Elegance sternum plate can be used with a Split Straight girth.
This suits saddles with girth straps that ascend at an angle, eg in a V. It means the girth straps can fasten in opposing directions.
Available in lengths of 20″ through to 48".

Can have an added Loop & D ring, for use with Martingales & Market Harboroughs if needed.
WITHOUT LOOP & D:
If you do not require a Martingale or Market Harborough then you can order without a Loop & D ring!

Our synthetic leather will have you looking hard to try and notice the difference. It has superior qualities of keeping clean and looking great even after years of use. You do not need to use any leather treatments on this synthetic material, just a quick wipe down with water will do the trick!
REAL LEATHER:
Our real leather versions of the FreeSpace girth are available in a choice of colours so you can match your girth to your saddle. You can chose from Black, Dark Brown, Havane, Nutmeg, and Oakwood.
